Week 34 #Bumpdate

Can you believe that I could give birth in 3 or 4 weeks? The idea of a baby coming out of my you know what is still very surreal for me. I think I'll cry like a baby when I see her for the first time. It's not just a baby; it's a tiny human being with her own looks, taste and virtues...

How far along? 34 WEEKS!!!

Baby is the size of a cantaloupe!

What's new for baby?

Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds (about the size of a cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies. (BabyCenter)
Total weight gain/measurements: 15 pounds still! Let's see what the future holds...

Maternity clothes: 3 dresses, 1 pair of shorts and one top. I do not really need much, and I feel like the end is near.

Sleep: I never get enough!

Best moment this week: Cuddling with Jay in bed. Just us. Aw

Movement: Yes, specially when I'm eating or trying to sleep.

Food cravings: Ice chips, strawberry Nesquik, soy milk, fruits in general...

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Contractions, tiredness, pelvic pressure, leg cramps, colostrum...

Belly button in or out? In. I do not think it will ever be out.

Wedding rings on or off? On, my fingers are still the same. Yay! :)

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. The weeks are getting shorter and shorter.

Looking forward to: Pack the hospital bag! and get everything clean and nice...

Stretch marks? None -yet-! I keep using oils and lots of lotion several times during the day. So far so good.

33 Weeks #Bumpdate

This week I had my prenatal check up and my midwife said:

  • Baby is in the head down position, getting ready for her big entrance.
  • Baby looks good. I'll probably deliver a 7 lbs baby.
  • My iron is a little bit low so I'll have to take a supplement.

How far along? 33 weeks + 5 days!

Baby is the size of a pineapple!

What's new for baby?

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark (about the size of a pineapple). He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.(BabyCenter)
Total weight gain/measurements: 15 pounds! Yes, fifteen! Can you believe it?!

Maternity clothes: 3 dresses, 1 pair of shorts and one top. I do not really need much, and I feel like the end is near.

Sleep: Between my big belly and the endless trips to the loo, it's getting difficult to rest these days...

Best moment this week: Just knowing that our baby is looking great warmed my heart.

Movement: Yes, lots of it! I feel that she is bigger and stronger now.

Food cravings: Ice chips, strawberry Nesquik and soy milk.

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Contractions, tiredness, pelvic pressure, leg cramps...

Belly button in or out? In. I do not think it will ever be out.

Wedding rings on or off? On, my fingers are still the same. Yay! :)

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy. I can stop thinking about how much our lives will change once she comes into the world.

Looking forward to: Pack the hospital bag, get her room cleaned and ready.

Stretch marks? None -yet-! I keep using oils and lots of lotion several times during the day. So far so good.

Week 32 #Bumpdate (8 months!)

Third trimester is no joke! It is sunday and I have been in bed because I feel tired and achy. Contractions come and go, and my pelvis is experiencing pressure. I have this feeling that she'll come earlier. We'll see, I might be wrong...

How far along? 32 weeks!

Baby is the size of a large jicama!

What's new for baby?

She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth. (BabyCenter)

Total weight gain/measurements: 12lbs but I know it will be more by the end of this week

Maternity clothes: 3 dresses, 1 pair of shorts and one top. I do not really need much, and I feel like the end is near.

Sleep: It is not my bump was bothering me, it's the third trimester symptoms!

Best moment this week: Celebrating our first year anniversary. We stayed the night out at a hotel, had dinner in this awesome catalan bistro... It was memorable. Hubby is the biggest blessing in my life.

Movement: Yes, lots of it! I feel that she is bigger and stronger now.

Food cravings: Ice chips, gatorade and fresh fruit.

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Contractions, tiredness, pelvic pressure, leg cramps...

Belly button in or out? In. I do not think it will ever be out.

Wedding rings on or off? On, my fingers are still the same. Yay! :)

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy and excited because the end is near.

Looking forward to: Get the 'nursery' ready and seeing her for the first time...

Stretch marks? None -yet-! I have been using oils and lotion since I found out I was pregnant so maybe that has helped.

Week 31 #Bumpdate --->Loading77.5%

How far along? 31 weeks and 4 days!

Baby is the size of a delicious coconut!

What's new for baby?

This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3 1/3 pounds (about the size of a coconut) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. (BabyCenter)

Total weight gain/measurements: Right now I am at my heaviest: 126.2 lb.  That's almost 12 lb. of weight gain. When I compare myself to other mums (sorry, not trying to be mean), my weight is fine, I guess!?

Maternity clothes: I only have 8 weeks and 2 days to go so it seems a little bit silly buying maternity clothes for myself. On the other hand, I do have to invest in some nursing bras and tops.

Sleep: My bump is a decent size so I can still manage to sleep on my side hugging hubby.

Best moment this week: Our lovely baby shower! Our mum and sis did an awesome job. Everybody had a good time and I felt so spoiled, so many gifts... I can't thank enough!

Movement: Yes, she has been moving more than ever. As I'm typing this, she's kicking hard.

Food cravings: Ice chips, peaches and Honey Bunches.

Gender: Girl!

Symptoms: Backaches, tiredness, Braxton Hicks, nesting mode, tender ribs, colostrum leakage.

Belly button in or out? In. I do not think it will ever be out.

Wedding rings on or off? On, my fingers are still the same. Yay! :)

Happy or moody most of the time: Happy and anxious. There are so many things a baby needs, I hope my maternal instincts show up asap.

Looking forward to: Get the 'nursery' ready and seeing her for the first time...

Stretch marks? None -yet-! We'll see, I do not want to be extra positive. I added Honest Co. Organic Oil to my beauty routine. I use it after I shower in my belly, breasts, hips and tights.

Here is the bump for 31 weeks...
