First Trimester Update Video

So I gave it a thought, and I realized that I not only wanted photos of my pregnancy but videos as well... Here is my first video which summarizes my first trimester pretty much and I also show my tiny bump.

Week 13 #Bumpdate

I'm so happy that baby and I made it to the Second Trimester! We completed a whole third of the pregnancy. And from now on, the baby is gonna grow like crazy. I have so many things to look forward and I feel so blessed to have an amazing husband that loves me so much and tolerates all my madness. I am thankful with our God for giving us the privilege to experience this and I pray for him to give us the guidance to raise this bundle of joy.
Now that I feel better, I want to go back to the gym and work on my legs muscles -that's gonna be important during labor- and just try to keep myself as healthy as possible.
Oh baby, please stay strong!

How far along: 13 weeks!
Baby is the size of a: Peach
Gender: We do not know yet but something tells me it's a little man!
Weight gain: My weight has been up and down lately. This morning, my weight was 116lbs, so to be fair, I gained 0.5lbs (for a total of 2lbs since the beginning of my pregnancy).
Maternity clothes: Not yet. Although, my little bump is making my skinny jeans feel really tight, specially when I'm having a meal.
Stretch marks: None YET, but I think I'm not going to be a 'lucky one' on this.
Belly button in or out: in.
Sleep: uh, it's okay. I just move a lot during the night because my lower abdomen hurts a little.
Best moment this week: Spending the weekend with my hubby and cooking dinner for him (he liked it very much and that made me happy).
Worst moment this week: I think I caught a cold and right now my ears and throat aren't in their best state.
Miss anything: Not really, or at least not for this week. I am just constantly missing my husband (hahaha, hopeless romantic).
Movement: Not yet, baby is still little. But hey, maybe I'll feel the baby soon!
Cravings: Burgers and strawberry shakes.
Foods that DON'T sound good: sour cream, chocolate fudge and cabbage.
Queasy or sick: I feel better now that I'm in the second trimester, yay!
Looking forward to: Having a real bump haha... and know the baby's sex of course.

I'm eating too much.

During the last year I gained some extra weight. I think it was because I could not go to my ballet classes and I was a little bit stressed. So, to begin with, my initial weight for this pregnancy wasn't the ideal. Still it's supposed to be healthy.
I started this pregnancy weighting 114lbs and by week 10, I was already weighting 117lbs! Honestly, I was getting concerned despite listening to my midwife saying that it is perfectly normal. I think some of you might agree that during the first trimester not many things sound tasty. But still I didn't lost weight like other preggo ladies claim!
As I finish my twelveth week, I'm starting to notice that my appetite is coming back . Last night I was so hungry! I wanted food, immediately! I told myself that probably it was my crazy hormones unnecessarily activating all kinds of emergency commands. I had two options for dinner: a crunchy chicken wrap or a southwest chicken salad. Guess what? I ATE THEM BOTH! An hour later, I was in tears because I felt like the fat pregnant lady that would eat the table and chairs if she doesn't get any food every 2 hours! Again, it was the hormones!! "Calm down, baby is fine, let momma be relaxed!!" Oh, I am drama queen...
Here's what I still can't explain: this morning I wanted to know how much I've gained after eating like a football team. Turns out I lost 2.2lbs, right now I'm weighting 114.8lbs... I think Baby is fine!
Before this week passes by, here's a picture of an accurate model of a fetus.

"Pregnancy changes you. It opens you up and breaks you into pieces, it makes you vulnerable and strong at the same time; then it reshapes you into a selfless unconditional lover. I believe motherhood begins right when you realize that you're carrying a tiny unique person inside of you."

Week 12 Bumpdate

How far along: 12 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Plum
Gender: We will know on April (I think it's a baby boy)
Weight gain: 1 pound... for a total weight gain of 2.5lbs
Maternity clothes: No, although some clothes feel different.
Stretch marks: No. I hope I don't get many.
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep: it's okay, most of the times that I need to go to the bathroom I'm half asleep.
Best moment this week: Watching TV with my husband while his hand was on my belly.
Worst moment this week: Yesterday, we went to a sushi place and I unconsciously ordered the opposite of what I really wanted, so I felt frustrated, aw.
Miss anything: Riding the bike with my husband, which is not 'safe' anymore.
Movement: Not yet, baby is still little.
Cravings: Spicy food & chips.
Foods that DON'T sound good: Alfredo sauce, clam chowder, bacon and eggs.
Queasy or sick: I'm actually feeling better. I just get dizzy sometimes but it goes away as soon as I have a little snack.
Looking forward to: Next appointment, having a bigger belly and feeling the baby moving (so cliche).

Dear Baby (first letter) & Baby Shopping...

On the weekend, we went to the mall and as usual I could not contain myself and ended up buying baby clothes. Why? 'Cause it's super cute. I can't just 'pass by' the baby department without looking at all the stuff. Oh, first time mum... I think hubby likes shopping too.
We found this lovely coat -here's the cool thing about it: my husband has a coat just like this one- & this awesome 4 piece set (hat, onesie, leggings and coverall). We still don't know the baby's gender but I'm sure that boy or girl, I am not gonna follow the predetermined standards of only blue or only pink outfits... There are so many pretty colors a boy or a girl can wear (gray, cerulean, mint, black, beige...)
We have so many pending things (nursery room, baby shopping, baby shower...) but that will be another post. I just want to add that if we plan a baby shower, it's gonna be a not boring one with stupid endless games... In the mid-time, how charming are these invitations from Vistaprint?
xx,
Raquel C.

Week 11 Bumpdate

How far along: 11 weeks
Baby is the size of a: Lime or Fig
Gender: We still don't know, but my hubby and I feel like we're having a handsome boy.
Weight gain: 0 pounds (yay, according to my midwife I should gain 8-10 lbs total up until my 20th week)
Maternity clothes: None yet, but I am dying to wear a tight dress once I start looking undeniably pregnant...
Stretch marks: No. I have been using lots of body lotion hoping it is gonna help the cause.
Belly button in or out: in
Sleep: it's not that bad. I wake up several times during the night because I have to pee or because I am nauseous.
Best moment this week: Baby shopping and seeing our baby on the ultrasound. Just knowing that he's okay makes me feel invincible.
Worst moment this week: Yesterday, I was all emotional and grumpy -I could not even stand watching the Grammy's cause I was feeling extremely cynical with all the shallowness- & I ate a hot dog with lots of onion and made me super nauseous the whole night.
Miss anything: Sleeping & eating yoghurt or eggs -ugh-.
Movement: Can't feel the  baby yet, it's still very early.
Cravings: just salty stuff & ensure shakes in the morning. Oh and I craved an In-and-Out burger this weekend (Baby has made me forget that I am vegetarian).
Foods that DON'T sound good: Yoghurt, Chocolate, M&Ms, coffee, english tea...
Queasy or sick: Still a little bit sick, but soon first trimester will be gone...
Looking forward to: Next doctor's appointment & finding out baby's sex! and of course spending time with my husband...

And here are our lovely ultrasound videos, they make my heart jump out of happiness.

PS. I am sorry I have been absent the past weeks but we have been busy. I need to be more organized.
